For the weekend I have discovered a Writing Speed Test for you.
My result isn’t the best, but for a foreign language it’s not too bad I guess 
Try it out and let me know how much you can make in a minute. I bet it’s not difficult to beat me.

Not bad for a 12 year old. Your advantage is you might write on a keyboard since you are a young kid. We are old farts, we learned it when we were 14 or something.

um… it tells you CHARACTERS per minute, not words. If you guys are getting 30 character per minute, that’s less than 1 character per two seconds and it means you’ve probably never used a keyboard in your life. Now that is a contradiction because here you are posting stuff online. That is embarassing, honestly. I thought it was words per minute.
Anyway I’m a pretty fast typer and I got 661 characters per minute. But I’d expect any average typer to get above 300 at least.

Some times back i.e. up to the year 2005 I have been running a typewriting institute in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, (South India)Government of Tamil Nadu’s Board of Technical Education conducting yearly twice typewriting tests which consists of 10 minutes
tenure, 30words per minute for junior grade and 45 words per minute for senior grades and 60 words per minute for Hi-speed.I cannot believe somebody is saying that 279/sec,106 words per min/113words per min./132words per min/187words per min/272wordsper min/672 characters per min.Sorry up to me it is unbelievable.

Sorry but you just suck at typing.
272 is really fast and probably bordering on or exceeding world record, but my sister and I type at around 150 — which, although faster than almost everyone I know, is an entirely achievable speed.
