“One Love”, the love to the game – Football!

The One Love project is a photographic study of the global football community through the eyes of British photographer Levon Biss. On his Website he provides an alternative view on the world of sport, capturing the raw passion and emotion it creates in big stadiums, in the backyard, on streets or in the middle of a desert.

After over 2 years, the One Love project covers 26 countries over 6 continents, each continents presented by 40 photographs. A collection of the world’s only truly global sport. With a colorful insight and different facets of this beautiful game as we never seen but also learned to love.

3 years ago, Jenson Button was at Top Gear and Jeremy asked him a very interesting question: What he would exchange to win his first race or the championship. Who would have known 3 years ago, he probably will win the championship and won several races already. Check out his answer at 16:40, which shows the character of this guy. A sportsman with real values, it’s not about the money.

The interview starts at 13:15 and it’s pretty funny, Jeremy makes fun of Jenson, that he already drove 107 races and never one even one race and his car is so slow. Funny though, just 6 races later, in his 113th, he won his first race!

Jenson is a very nice guy, I really like him and he deserves the championship. Great guy! Even though my favorite driver is Sebastian Vettel, he is a very nice and talented guy and of course from Germany. Hope he will have his chance in the future.

Today, I was at our break room to check what have the fitness center in our area to offer. Our company Interstate Batteries offer a pretty good deal, they pay the fees if you go at least 10 times a month. Really cool.

Ok, so I thought, why not, just do it, maybe I can play some racquet ball, better then nothing, since I’m not really interested in running or whatever you can do in a fitness club. So the guy of LA Fitness was talking about their things to offer. Then he mentioned the word Squash. I was like: “SQUASH? You offer Squash? Give me the damn paper and I sign up immediately!” And after a minute I was a new member at LA Fitness. Just great, after 3 years I finally can play Squash again. The facility is pretty new. So when I looked for Squash Courts when I moved to my area a year ago there was nothing really available. It is so great it made my day!

I was also asking if you could have a beer there after Squash, like we always had with our team in Germany. Unfortunately they don’t but they have some bars close by .

Can’t wait to start again

Here you go! You have to watch this, what a dream goal by Diego, he is one of the best players at Werder Bremen, even Real Madrid wants to have him, he plays outrageous. It was the last minute of the game and the goalkeeper of the other team had to get out of the his goal to make another goal to tie the game. But it didn’t work out. Turn on your Volumes.

Yesterday was a pretty exciting day. I got Tickets for the NASCAR race at the Texas Motor Speedway. It was really cool. I went pretty early with my buddy Efrain to the race. First we went to the tent of my company Interstate Batteries, where our driver J.J. Yeley signed some autographs.

After that we went to the Pit Stops with our VIP Tickets . It was pretty cool to see all the cars very close. After the Pit Tour we had really good lunch at our tent. Everything till then was perfect.

The race started at 1:30 and we were hoping that J.J. would make a good race. But he didn’t even make the first lap! Some other freakin’ idiot kicked him out and the race was over for him. What a bad luck! Been at a race and then he is out after 1 mile.

At least Efrain had fun, since his Colombian Driver Montoya was still in the race. He ended up with the 8th place with a top position 4.

Really bad was the way home, we had to wait for 2 hours :uebel: before we were able to leave the parking lot. Crazy! After all, we needed for the drive 3 hours. On the last picture you can see smart people who rather cooked dinner in the parking lot instead of waiting in the car.

Besides that, the day was awesome, we had a lot fun and enjoyed it quite a bit.

The best part of the whole trip, at least for Thomas, was the Mavs game vs. New York Knicks. Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs didn’t have their best day, but at the end it was exciting and they won again.

Sunday is the Sports Day of the year! No, not only because of the Super Bowl, of course too. But in Europe are other very important games going on!

First, the Handball World Cup Final in Germany: Germany vs. Poland. What we weren’t able to do in Summer 2006 at the Soccer World Cup is today able in Handball, World Champion! Handball is very popular in Europe, so it’s a pretty big deal too. Not so much as soccer of course, but it certainly is.

And not to forget, Werder Bremen vs. Schalke 04. My favourite Soccer Club Werder Bremen plays against the second in the German League. So an absolutely Top Game, since Bremen is first and Schalke is second. So it’s a very important game for my team.

So it could be a great day, if all my favourite Teams will win or a desaster. But I have to say, my priorities are first Bremen, than Germany wins the Handball Worldcup and then Colts will win.

Why the Colts, because Manning deserves it since he is a great QB and they played good the last several years. It’s time for them. They also play a more ofensive game, which I like much more. And if I would like answer like a girl: I like blue/white more then orange/black Uniforms.

Finally, after over 2 years I played Racquetball for the first time. It was really fun to play. Casey and Brian, two mates of Interstate Batteries were nice enough to show me how to play. The difference between Squash and Racquetball is, the ball is bigger, it’s bouncing more and the court is longer. Even though it was fun and I played just once, I think Squash will still be my number one game. But I guess I will play more often, to get back in shape :smile2:.
