Home is a free-to-view 2009 documentary by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. The film is almost entirely composed of aerial shots of various places around Earth, taken in over 50 countries in the process. It shows the diversity of life on Earth and how humanity is threatening the ecological balance of the planet. The movie was released simultaneously on June 5 in cinemas all over the world, on DVD, TV and on YouTube. Released on the same date in 181 countries is a world record for any film release in history. HOME is an Ode to our planet.

This is a post about frustration in movie theaters.

My girlfriend and I didn’t go to the movie theaters for a while, it’s been several months. We were even more happy to have the time for a visit again. We decided to watch Righteous Kill with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.

Just arrived at our seats, there also came 5 young guys sitting right behind us. They started to talk and goof around, which is ok, they still showed some trailers.

But when the movie started and de Niro was talking, one of these idiots got a call, instead of hanging up, he was talking like a maniac and didn’t care that everybody else wanted to listen to the movie. We turned around and asked him to switch off his phone, he was just looking at us like a stupid cow and continued talking. It didn’t bother him at all.

The movie probably had too much tension for these guyes, they were nervously tipping with their feet against our seats. It was very annoying!

After 20 minutes, 4 other guys of this Gang came and greeted each other and they start talking again, they even throw some stuff around. I really hate those people, absolute with no respect to anybody. I would love to bend them over my knee and beat the hell out of their asses. I’m wondering what the hell they are doing there, if they don’t watch the movie anyways? Or why are they even waste oxygene?

I know, that can happen and I’m sure that happened to everyone, having some annoying people next to you. But this happened to me the last 4 or 5 times. People talking on the phone as if they are alone. Talking to each other about their new girlfriend so the whole world can know it. burping, so everybody could evidence that they drunk their beer in 5 seconds.

What I noticed, those idiots are always in action or mainstream movies. If you watch an intellegent or romantic movie, this never happens. Those idiots don’t watch these kind of movies.

I really liked to go to the movie theater, but know I don’t give a shit anymore. 20 Euros for 2 tickets, 10 Euros for drinks and snacks and you paid a total of 30 Euros just to get annoyed by some retardos for the next two hours. I think it will be the last time for a while, that I go to the movie theater, except my girlfriend wants to watch a cheesy romantic movie. It’s really sad, but I rather safe the money for a big Plasma TV and Dolby Suround Speakers to have my own Movie Theater Experience!

Oh BTW, the movie? Alright, Robby and Al are great actors, but you can watch the movie on DVD! I probably would have enjoyed the movie more if those guys wouldn’t been there.

The awesome talented Argentine Carlos Lascano from Madrid created this beautiful art. First I thought it was made by a big film studio, but totally wrong, it was made by a very small team, with love to details. The movie is touching and upliving. Just great!

“A Short Love Story” is about a little girl, which is in class and drawing her dream house, while she is thinking about her whole future in this house together with her schoolmate. This movie would have deserved an Oscar in the category short movie, but maybe it was too short.

The genius song of Sigur Ros Hoppipolla makes it to a complete masterpiece. The music perfectly fits to the pictures and reflects the emotion of this movie. Admirable!

I was really exciting to see the new Indiana Jones movie, but it wasn’t near what I expected. It wasn’t really bad or crap -no! But in comparison to the other Indiana Jones movies it was surely the worst. It won’t be a movie I will remember for a long time and neither will it make any movie history. It was just an average plain movie, not more and not less.

I have to say, I have a special connection to the Indiana Jones movies. Because Indiana Jones and the last crusade was the first movie I’ve ever seen in a movie theater. I know, I was already 12 when I watched it, pretty late to be the first time in a movie theater. But in our small city wasn’t a movie theater yet.

I can remember as it was yesterday, my brother gave me the tickets for my birthday and we drove to the next biggest city with my old buddy Eddy and watched the movie. It was a really great movie, great story, cool action, awesome actors and Harrison Ford on the peak of his career. I was still talking about the movie even weeks after I watched it. Even today I think it is a great movie.

Harrison Ford is one of my favorite actors and he did his role as Indiana Jones pretty good, with humor, charme and his grumpy mood. I cannot imagine another actor is playing Indiana Jones except Harrison Ford. Even though Tom Selleck got offered the role first.

So why do I think Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull was a disappointment?

First of all the cast, the son has nothing similar to Indiana Jones, he doesn’t look like him and he doesn’t have the same humor, charme and grumpy mood what makes Indiana Jones so great. The same with the other actors, Cate Blanchett can do better, this role wasn’t right for her to play just a stupid role as a Russian spy. She needs more insightful roles with character. The only actor I thought was good was John Hurt as professor Oxley. He didn’t say much but he played the crazy professor pretty good. All the other characters weren’t impressive at all.

But what really annoyed me was the sloppy work of Steven Spielberg.

Sometimes the skull was strong magnetic and sometimes not at all. They passed by the skull next to metal and nothing happened at all sometimes. Also the scene where they have a big truck to cut all trees and bushes to create a path through the jungle. After Indy destroyed the truck, they were still able to have a car chase in the middle of the jungle and suddenly there were even two paths available until the waterfall – come on!

Some other scenes were also ridiculous, for example when Mutt was swinging like Tarzan through the jungle.

What I also didn’t understand, why did Indy try to rescue Mac at the end of the movie, even though he tried to kill him and was working for the Russians. I was surprised anyway, that Mac was still alive after the big crash he had in the big ware house at the beginning of the movie. Where he crashed together with a truck. He wasn’t even hurt!

The same miracle in the scene when they got thrown out by the water at the end, after 2 seconds, nobody was wet anymore at all. They were bone-dry.

Of course, Indiana Jones is an action and fantasy movie, where 100 bullets won’t hit him, you can expect that, but a director like Steven Spielberg should pay more attention to the detail.

How did you like the movie? Probably you think I am too critical, but you should expect little bit more from a crew like them.

I just found an interesting website, where you can see all errors of many movies, here are some of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I didn’t spot most of them and I’m normally not that critical but some errors where so obvious.

Last week I watched the new movie of Matthew McConaughay “We are Marshall” on Prescreen (starting on December 22nd). It’s about a true story of a football team, which dies in a plane crash.

The movie was very good. I really liked it. McConaughay did a great job as the new coach. I really can recommend this movie, it’s not only about football, it’s about the tragedy the whole town has to suffer.

Two 2 weeks ago I watched “Deja Vu” with Denzel Washington. It was alright, a typical Jerry Bruckheimer Movie, quite a bit bang, bang, a superstar and that’s about it. It looks like they don’t have any other roles for Denzel, he is playing always the same kind of guy lately. A cop who has protect someone or something. Come on, they should use his talent for other roles too.

The movie was a little bit too much Sc-Fi. I wouldn’t recommend to watch this movie in a movie theater, maybe on DVD.

So ist der Original Titel von Borat der Film. Am Samstag hab ich ihn mir reingezogen. Borat ist ein Film den man entweder hasst oder liebt. Wenn du Helge Schneider magst oder Napoleon Dynamite (ganz bekannt in Amerika) geh rein, wenn du von sowas absolut nichts haeltst, dann bleib weg. Was kannst du von dem Film erwarten? Nichts! Geh einfach rein und schalte dein Gehirn ab und du wirst einige Lacher und Ueberraschungen haben.

Eigentlich sollte das auch ein lustiger Kommentar sein, aber nachdem ich einige Kommentare auf deutschen Webseiten gelesen habe, dachte ich mir, ich schreibe mal etwas tiefgruendiger ueber diesen Film…

Cohen geht bei dem Film bis an die Grenzen der Komik, auch auf eigene Gefahr. Man muss sich auch klar werden, dass alles nicht gestellt ist, die Leute dachten wirklich, er waere ein kasachischer Reporter der von Zivilisation keine Ahnung hat.

Viele sagen auch, der Film waere Volksverhetzung und verunglimpfe andere Religionen und andere Gruppierungen, das ist Bloedsinn, erstens ist Cohen selber Jude und ausserdem kamen solche Leute ueberhaupt nicht schlecht weg.

Die Leute, die in dem Film vorkamen und schlecht wegkamen meinten sie waeren falsch verstanden worden, aber ich denke eher, in dem Film wurde deren Charakter richtig gezeigt, weil sie zu dumm waren und dachten, der Idiot versteht sowieso nicht was ich sage, also sage ich auch was ich denke!

Cohen Alias Borat versuchte keine Person schlecht darzustellen, er stellt einfach eine Frage oder eine Situation dar und ueberlaesst der anderen Person das Zepter, was sie auch in genuesslicher Weise gerne uebernehmen. Wer in dem Film schlecht rueberkommt ist der durchschnittliche gutbuergerliche konservative Ami, der meint er fuehrt ein gut besonnenes Leben und ist im Recht.

z.B. der Priester am Tisch, verlaesst den Raum sobald die Prostituierte reinkommt (predigt er nicht wir sollen alle lieben?). Und es gibt noch viel mehr Beispiele in dem Film. Ach ja, die Szene mit den Christen wo die alle wild rumtanzen und dem Jesus Christ dienen, das ist nicht gestellt, das ist wirklich so. Solche Leute gibt es hier und davon auch zuhauf, da sagt mir einer nur die Islamen waeren Fanatiker und Intolerant gegenueber andere Religionen. Als Europaer denkt man bei einigen Szenen, die sind gestellt, aber ich kenne persoenlich Leute, die teilweise so denken oder handeln. Auch fuer mich war es manchmal ein Kulturschock. Wobei ich sagen muss, es sind natuerlich nicht alle Amerikanischen Buerger so, die grosse Mehrzahl sind sehr nett, zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit, tolerant und haben es begriffen, dass Bush der falsche Mann ist

Den Film muss man erstens nicht so ernst nehmen, aber er gibt dir einen Einblick in ein Land auf eine andere Art und Weise. Zweitens, es ist tief tief schwarzer englischer Humor, also, wie schon am Anfang gesagt, you hate it or love it, no way out.

Meine persoenliche Meinung zum Film, ich hatte mehr erwartet, da ich nur sehr gutes gehoert habe. Fehler 1, ich hatte was erwartet. 2. Fehler, die meisten Szenen kannte ich schon aus Ausschnitten oder aelteren Shows von Borat, also war der Ueberraschungseffekt nicht soo gross. Aber ich hatte trotzdem noch einige Lacher und amuesierte mich.

Empfehlen wuerde ich den Film auch nur Leuten, von denen ich weiss, das der Film ihr Humor trifft, allen anderen wuerde ich abraten oder sie sollen es einfach ausprobieren und testen.
