Germanized

I get the feeling America gets slowly Germanized, at least in the media world German is in. In many car commercial they have used Germans for the commercials, especially the German brands like Volkswagen or Mercedes. But now the American Brands start too. 4 weeks ago, I saw a GM commercial with their newest car models. The beginning of the guitar melody sounded familiar, until they start to sing…

And listen to this: It was a German song of 2Raumwohnung mit Sasha – Sex Secret on. German Music on a GM commercial, how cool is that. 8)

You can listen to a snippet of the song here:

And then, just last week, ebay had a German Christmas song playing in their commercial. What can I say :thumps:

Last but not least I saw the German movie Sophie Scholl in Blockbuster, German with English subtitle, and all gone, except the last one, which I got :) . A real good movie of a true story of Sophie Scholl a student from Munich, who was fighting against the Nazis in the Underground. The movie was nominated for the Oscar for best foreign movie. It was a big success in Europe.

Looks like the German Culture is finally coming over the big lake. It almost feels like at home.

Oh, I almost forgot, at Walmart you can get German Chocolate now, Milka, it’s wrapped in purple paper, very good. :smile2:
